FAQs

When does practice start? How long is practice?

Practice runs Tuesday through Friday from 3:00 to 4:15. Our first practice is Tuesday, February 25 at 3:00 in the gym. Most days we are outside on the track. Athletes should be dressed, ready to run. Please help them bring a water bottle, sweats (in case it's cold), and running shoes (no flip flops or slip on shoes).

When are the meets? How long do they last?

We have a district coaches meeting on Wednesday, February 19th. As soon as we have our schedule, we will post it here.
Most meets last from 3 until 6 pm. Students are bussed to and from the meets; we arrive early to warm up. Students who cannot stay for the whole meet need to let someone else run by telling the coaches two days before.

What is Alpine Days? When is it?

Our last event is Alpine Days--the district-wide track meet for junior highs. We have a coaches' meeting this week to learn the dates of our meets, including Alpine Days (usually two days April 30/May 1). As soon as we have those dates, we will post them here.
Students are chosen to attend/run based on times during our previous meets. We are restricted to the number of entrants. This meet starts at 12 or 1 pm, and students will be excused from the last two classes that day.
